"l'Expédition Scyllias" http://pagesperso-orange.fr/scyllias is a French association known all over the World and created by experiment divers who have a passion for maritime History and contemporary underwater archaelogy. Our main, original and ambitious project nowconsists in : Organizing a World tour aboard a big, modern and inspired from traditional Chinese design sailing-boat in order to cruise and discover exciting contemporary wrecks, also amazing underwater sites, with the experience of a Chinese-French crew composed of men and women appealed by the underwater world. This operation would of course generate very important mediatic effects, in China, in France and over the World, and would be a particularly dynamic motor for the consolidation of links between both countries, a true window of what the future relationships should be. The sailing-boat is over all an ecologic transport and an excellent support for this kind of operation; diving is a particular activity turned towards nature and culture, history, past of militar and merchants navies, study and discovery of underwater life and presents a strong, positive image, mixing of adventure, exploration and sport. A trip with numerous ports of call in many countries would also add to the exploration part the possibility to expose over the World the true and exciting window of this innovative project, and would promote at its best the relationship and the knowledge of our both countries. Remember what have done Admiral Zheng He and Commandant Cousteau. Many centuries have spent since the great Chinese explorations and more than fifty years since the Calypso’s Odyssey but it is now possible with a French-Chinese team to revive a new, different, actual maritime adventure which will also have a strong impact on minds and History! This Chinese-French expedition project is an excellent, innovative concept, buoyant for everyone. But this remarkable operation which will generate enormous mediatic effects will only succeed if wills are united and if we can take advantage of financial support of Chinese or French-Chinese company managers. This project will assuredly reinforce and promote relationship between China and France and open up together new ways.
